Bangabandhu Tunnel to be inaugurated in two phases in October-November: Bridges Minister

The Bangabandhu Tunnel in Chittagong's Karnaphuli River will be inaugurated in two parts in October-November this year, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

He said this while participating in the ‘BSRF Dialogue’ organized by Bangladesh Secretary Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the media center of the Secretariat on Wednesday (September 7), which was presided over by the organization's president Tapan Biswas and moderated by the general secretary Masudul Haque.

He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate one tube of Bangabandhu Tunnel in Karnaphuli river in October and another in November.

He also said that the construction of the Kalna Bridge will be completed this month. Any match in October, when the Prime Minister gives the meeting, will be inaugurated.

The minister said that the Uttara-Agargaon section of the metro rail was inaugurated in December and up to Motijheel before next December.
