Film actress Mahita Mahi did not get the nomination of Aomi League in the by-election of Chapainawabganj-2 seat (Gomstapur, Nachol and Bholahat). Gitaur Rahman has been nominated in the seat with the boat symbol.

Earlier, BNP MP Aminul Islam was the MP in this seat and his resignation from Parliament will make the seat vacant.

The meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Nomination Board was held at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister, after the meeting, the general secretary of the party and Bridges Minister Obatadul Quader told reporters in the by-election.

He said that in the by-election of BNP's sixth seat, Awami League has fielded three candidates in the seat of Bogusa-6.

On the other hand, the ruling party has been open to the two partner parties of Bangladesh in the 14-party party in Thakurgaon-3 and the Jati Samajtantrik Dal (JSAD) in Boguja-4 seat.

Mahita Mahi has recently got the post of the Central Committee of the Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance and will serve as the Joint General Secretary in the Central Committee for the next two years.

Actress Mahi collected the nomination form named Sharmin Akhter Nipa (Mahita) from the Aotami League president's Dhanmondi political office last Thursday afternoon to participate in the by-election of Chapainawabganj-2 seat (Gomstapur, Nachol and Bholahat).
