5 Bangladeshis killed in road accident in Oman

Five Bangladeshis have died in a road accident in Oman. All of them are residents of Sandwip, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The accident occurred on a road in Duqm, Oman, at around 6 a.m. local time on Saturday.

Several others were injured in the accident. Two of the injured are in critical condition.

There were 10 passengers in the car that met with the accident. Nine of them were from Sandwip and one from Feni.

All 10 of the victims of the accident worked as fishermen in the Arabian Sea. They were fishing in the sea at night and returning to their homes in Dukum in the morning. Most of them were asleep at the time of the accident.

Jahirul Alam Majumder, deputy director of the Manpower, Employment and Training Bureau in Chittagong, said that Anwar Hossain, first secretary of the labor welfare wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Oman, said that five Bangladeshi workers were killed. All of them lived in Sandwip.
