Salahuddin, the main accused in the death of Shaheen Akhtar, was arrested in Kamalnagar

Police have arrested Salahuddin, the main accused in the death of Shaheen Akhtar in Lakshmipur.

He was arrested from the zamindarhat bridge area of Ramgatti around 2 pm on Monday (April 29) and was the son of Mahar Ali of Char Fallakon village in Laxmipur. Shahin Akhtar is the meteor of Zafar Uddin of Sonagazi village of Raujan upazila of Chittagong.

Alamgir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Kamalnagar Police Station and Investigating Officer of the case, said that since Shahin Akhtar was killed, the police team has been working to arrest Salahuddin, the main accused in the case. The police arrested him from the zamindarhat bridge area of Ramgati in the area.

Earlier on the night of April 22, Shahin's father Zafar Uddin filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Act, which has accused Salahuddin and five people including Salahuddin, who has been accused by seven other unidentified persons.

On the afternoon of April 21, the locals saw Shahin coming out of a burnt-out field in Barmazhir area of Charfalkan Uni, Charfalkan Upazila of Kamalnagar Upazila. He was later treated on April 22 at 11 am. Later on Tuesday (April 23) Shahin's maturity was completed on Tuesday morning and the body was handed over to his father Zafar Uddin. Shahin was buried in the family cemetery after the funeral that night.
