Sharmin Jahan Arin is leading the discussion as a talented and qualified candidate for the post of female vice chairman in the Upazila Parishad elections in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur.

Meanwhile, potential candidates for the posts of chairman, male vice chairman and female vice chairman have entered the voting field for the Upazila Parishad elections. Sharmin submitted the form to the party office to be nominated from the Awami League for the post of Upazila Female Vice Chairman.

Sharmin is the co-wife of Upazila Jubo League leader Miraj Hossain Shanta, son of freedom fighter late Shahajan Commander. She is the daughter of Zahirul Islam Kochi, chairman of Char Lawrence Khokon. She passed SSC from Char Lawrence High School and BSS (degree) from Lakshmipur Government University College.

Sharmin is already running for election as a female vice chairman candidate. Her campaign has been spread across the upazila, on Facebook, posters, and banners. She is also seen participating in social development activities. She has started working for the development of neglected women in this coastal township. She has entered the election field to stand by the people of this area affected by river erosion.

When asked, Sharmin Jahan Orin said, "I have received a huge response from the people in the election field. I want to work alongside the people affected by river erosion. I am working for the development of the neglected women of this area. I want to work with them in the future as well. I will work to stop the social diseases of women's oppression, child marriage and dowry system."

She also said, "I hope to be nominated for the post of Women Vice Chairman from the Awami League."
