Police have arrested Ashraf Uddin Rajan Raju, a fugitive convicted in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur. He was arrested from Karunanagar area in a raid conducted on Monday, January 21 afternoon. Raju is the former chairman of Char Kadira Union and a member of the Upazila Awami League.
Kamalnagar Police Station UWT Officer Bahar Uddin said that he was arrested after conducting a raid based on a secret information. He was sentenced to two and a half years by the court in three fraud cases (money laundering) and had been a fugitive for a long time. He has been handed over to the court.
