Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur:

Prime Minister's Food Relief (GR) rice has been distributed among families affected by Cyclone "Sitrang".

On Thursday (October 27) afternoon, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) of the district, Mohammad Nur A Alam, distributed these gifts to the affected families of Sahebar Hat Union of Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur district.

Also present at the event were Upazila Chairman Mezbah Uddin Ahmed Bappi, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Kamruzzaman, Saheber Hat Union Parishad Chairman Abul Khair, Upazila Fisheries Officer Abdul Kuddus, Project Implementation Officer Representative Abul Basar Nayan, Kamalnagar Press Club General Secretary AI Tarek and many others.

It is worth mentioning that due to the absence of embankments due to the impact of Cyclone "Sitrang", the people of Char Kalkini, Saheber Hat, Char Falkon, Patarir Hat, Char Matin Unions of the upazila were stranded in the water of the Meghna River. As a result, various food items including rice, pulses, oil, salt were distributed to these helpless families by the district and upazila administration.
