The senior secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told a parliamentary committee that Dhaka-New York flights could be launched by the end of this year.
Regarding the launch of the Dhaka-New York flypast today (September 13), the Foreign Minister said that white people at Dhaka Airport, especially those from New York, were released without any security checks, which has led to a negative report on the security of Dhaka Airport.
Meanwhile, when expatriate Bengali workers arrive in the country, they are subjected to various forms of harassment at the airport, which is why there is some delay in the operation of Dhaka-New York flights.
The meeting, chaired by committee chairman Muhammad Faruk Khan, was also attended by Nurul Islam Nahid, Golam Faruk, Khandaker Prince, Md. Abdul Majid Khan, Md. Habibe Millat, Nahim Razzak and Kazi Nabil Ahmed. In addition, senior officials from the ambassador to Bhutan, ministries and the Parliament Secretariat were present.
