The Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education has raised a contribution from the educational institution on the occasion of his son's marriage, said BNP's joint secretary general, Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, who said, ‘State Minister Zakir Hossain has forced the teachers to give freezer, television gifts and give freezes and television gifts to the education of the sons of the 164 educational institutions. He also forced the institutions to close.’
He said, ‘They (Awami League leaders and activists) have gone to such a level. And they say there has been development in the education sector. They say one by one. Awami League's hands are on both sides, if you want to scare someone, you hold your feet and when you are in danger, you hold your feet.’
He said this in a human chain organized in front of the National Press Club on Saturday to demand the release of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and all the detained party leaders and workers at the initiative of the Nationalist Fishermen Party.
‘Sheikh Hasina had resigned from parliament 13 months ago with Jamaat and Jatiya Party demanding a caretaker government. The life line of Bangladesh was closed by the Chittagong port. The strike called the strike and made the people suffer. Today, the same is the one who canceled the caretaker government and is talking in the opposite way.’
He said, ‘They (Awami League) will not be good, they are not going to be good. 10 taka per kg was supposed to be 70 taka per kg. It is not a good sign. They said that they have given jobs from house to house. They have filed cases in house to house. Our leaders and activists have filed a case in jail. Our leaders and workers said to give fertilizers freely, the price of fertilizers has increased a hundredfold. Farmers do not get fair price for their crops. They also take taxes from the dirt that is given from their homes. They also take taxes from beggars on the roads.’
BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Krishak Dal General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul, Fishermen's Party Member Secretary Abdur Rahim, Joint Convener Zakir Hossain Khan, Omar Farooq and other leaders of Dhaka North South Fishermen's Party were present.
