Leaders of 7 teachers' organizations have taken an oath of simultaneous movement to achieve various demands, including nationalization of the education system. It was decided to submit the written demands of each organization to the coordinating general secretary of the Bangladesh Teachers' Association, Principal Md. Abul Kashem, by November 5. The simultaneous oath was taken at a meeting of 7 like-minded teachers' organizations in favor of independence at the central office of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin on Tuesday (October 31) under the chairmanship of Bangladesh Teachers' Association President Azizul Islam.
At the meeting, leaders of 7 organizations called on teachers and employees across the country to unite to achieve their just demands, including nationalization of the education system. They also called on the government to fulfill the just demands of teachers and employees, including providing them with full pension benefits, a 5 percent annual salary increase, Baisakhi allowance, house rent, and full Usab allowance, as promised in the past.
The seven teachers' organizations include Bangladesh Teachers' Association (BTA), Bangladesh College Teachers' Association (Asadul Haque-Faiz Hessen), Bangladesh College University Teachers' Association (Bakbishis), Bangladesh Teachers' Association (Awal-Bilkis), Bangladesh Jamiatul Modaresin, Bangladesh Teachers' Association (Azizul Islam-Mohsin) and Bangladesh Technical Teachers' Association (Sattar-Md. Ali).
Among the leaders present at the meeting were Bangladesh Teachers' Association President Muhammad Abu Bakr Siddique, Bangladesh College Teachers' Association President Asadul Haque, Bangladesh Jamiatul Modaresin President AMM Bahauddin, Bangladesh Teachers' Association General Secretary Principal Md. Abul Kashem, Bangladesh College University Teachers' Association General Secretary Principal Mohammad Jahangir, Bangladesh Jamiatul Modaresin Secretary General Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Momtazi, Bangladesh Teachers' Association General Secretary Bilkis Zaman, Bangladesh College Teachers' Association General Secretary Professor Md. Faiz Hesen, Bangladesh Technical Teachers' Association General Secretary Principal Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, Bangladesh Teachers' Association Acting General Secretary Md. Mohsin Reza, Bangladesh Teachers' Association Vice President Ranjit Kumar Saha, Bangladesh College University Teachers' Association Vice President Principal Abu Bakr Chowdhury, Bangladesh Teachers' Association Joint Secretary Md. Shahe Alam and other teacher leaders.
