Ex-husband arrested for gang-raping divorced wife

Lakshmipur: The police have arrested ex-husband Abul Kalam (35) in the case of torture and gang-rape by cutting the hair of a divorced wife in Kamalnagar in Lakshmipur.

He was arrested from Sonargaon in Naratanganj on Thursday (December 7) night. Abul Kalam is the son of Anatar Ali of Torabganj area.

On Friday (December 8) around noon, Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC, Investigation) Md. Alamgir Hossain confirmed the poison of the arrest and said that based on the news, he was arrested in the help of Sonargaon police station.

On November 17, on the evening of the evening, Abul Kalam, who was abducted from Toramganj area of Kamalnagar, had gang-raped his two others in the morning and left the woman on the side of the road.

The woman's mother rescued her and admitted her to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital after receiving information from the locals and the next day on November 18 at noon.

Relatives alleged that Kalam had been having dowry several times since the woman had been married to Abul Kalam 10 years ago and then he was demanding more dowry. Last year he was pressing for dowry of Rs 50,000.

‘He was divorced by his wife six months ago through the court without seeing the upad. Because of this, Kalam took three of his friends and took away his wife, tortured, beat up and gang-raped his wife.’

The day after the incident, the victim's mother filed a case in the police station, who was accused of ex-husband's friend, a resident of Torabganj area. Siraj Mitar's son. The police arrested Bablu that night.

After the incident, the ex-husband of the rape victim Abul Kalam went into hiding.
