The Food and Chemical Lab Expo 2022 is going to be held in Bangladesh for the first time.
The Lab Expo will be inaugurated at 10 am on Sunday (September 11) at the Carnival and Harmony Hall of the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital.
The Food and Chemical Lab Expo will promote the services of government and commercial labs, raise public awareness, and encourage coordination, communication, and collaboration among laboratories.
So that the testing of food and agricultural products is enriched and international standards are completed to improve and facilitate import and export and trade. In addition, through this expo, work will be done to bring all food and agricultural product laboratories to a common platform and make discussion and testing facilities easily available. Through this event, all consumers and other stakeholders will be able to know about the overall services of the lab.
44 labs from government, academic, research and private sectors are participating in the expo. Each lab will have a separate exhibition stall to showcase its services. The day-long expo will be held in three different parts. The first part will be an opening session, the second part will be a laboratory exhibition, and the third part will be a scientific panel discussion on food safety and testing with international and Bangladeshi experts, where Senior Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia will be present. The opening ceremony will be presided over by Abdul Qayyum Sarkar, Chairman of the Safe Food Authority, and Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder MP will be present as the chief guest.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Ziaul Hasan ndc, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Md. Ismail Hossain ndc, FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin, and Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States of America in Bangladesh Helen Lafave will be present as special guests.
Explaining the reason for organizing the Food and Chemical Lab Expo, the organizers said, "The Food and Chemical Laboratory Expo and a scientific discussion are being organized keeping in mind the issues of modernization and development of food and chemical laboratories in Bangladesh, improvement of food safety and related technologies, and ensuring quality and safety commercially. Preparations for this event are underway under the auspices of the BTF (Bangladesh Trade Facilitation) project and with the overall support of the BFSA (Bangladesh Food Safety Authority).
The organizers also said, "The expo will be an excellent place for private and public laboratories to develop new technologies and accurate methods. Our scientific sessions will feature contemporary discourse and participatory discussions on food safety that will engage all stakeholders."
