Today the newly elected MPs of the 11th National Parliament will take oath. According to the rules, the Speaker of the 10th Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will administer their oath and swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Sangsad Bhavan at 11 am.
For this, the National Parliament Secretariat has completed the preparations for the newly elected MPs will be welcomed in the swearing-room. After entering the oath room, everyone will hand over the oath-author folder.
Then the speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will be called to take oath, and the Speaker himself will take his own oath before taking the oath of the 11th Parliament MP himself, and then he will take the oath of the other MPs.
As the majority party in the 11th Parliament, the MPs of Awami League will take oath of the MPs. The number of MPs will be higher and their oaths may be taken in the 11th Parliament. After their oath, the MPs of the nation party and finally the other parties and independent MPs will take the oath. The ceremony will be conducted by the Sinner of the Parliament Secretariat. Parliament Secretariat sources said that after taking the oath, the VIP cafeteria of the MPs will be held on the third floor of the MPs. The newly elected MPs will sign the reserved register kept in the Parliament Secretary's room and take a profile picture in the Parliament studio.
The clauses were rehearsed yesterday by the officials of the Parliament Secretariat, which the new MPs have been obliged to take oath and convene a Parliament session within a month as per the Constitution.
The law officer of the Parliament Secretariat said that the leader, Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected in the first session of the 11th Parliament. The President will administer the oath to the new Speaker. But it is not clear who the leader of the opposition will be.
