District detective police have arrested four people, including a woman, in connection with the murder and robbery of a Bivatek driver named Bijoy Mia (26) in Raipura, Narsingdi. They were arrested by conducting raids in various areas of Raipura within 48 hours of the murder case, unraveling the mystery and collecting evidence.
(September 28) Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Md. Al-Amin gave this information at a press conference at the office of the Narsingdi Superintendent of Police on Wednesday afternoon. The arrested accused are - Md. Rubel Mia (31), son of Dhan Mia of Balbpur area of Raipura upazila of Narsingdi, Kausar (28), son of Moslem Mia of Birgaon Purbapara, Alal Mia (35), son of Md. Solaiman, Rubia Begum (45), wife of Md. Abdur Rahim of Birgaon Kandapara.
Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Md. Al-Amin said in a press conference that on Saturday afternoon, 24th (September), Bijoy Mia left Basail's house to run a Bivatek. Since then, he has been missing along with Bivatek. Later, on Sunday afternoon, at around 3:30 pm, Bijoy Mia was found tied to a cement pole with a nylon rope tied around his neck inside a banana plantation on the south side of the Raipura to Narsingdi paved road in Mahmudnagar area of Raipura. In this incident, the mother of the deceased, Minara Begum, filed a murder case with Raipura Police Station as the plaintiff. Later, the detective police launched a shadow investigation into the incident and today, 28th (September), based on secret information, conducted a separate operation and arrested Rubel Mia from the Marjal area and Kausar and Alal Mia from Nilaksha, who were involved in the case.
According to the arrestees, a body of the stolen Bivatek, four batteries, four wheels and various parts of the Bivatek, and the mobile set used by Bijoy Mia were recovered from the house of Rubia Begum, the aunt of Rubel and Alal Mia. Further legal action against the arrested persons is under process.
