Human chain formed in Noakhali demanding amendment to brick kiln law

The brick-makers' association has formed a human chain to demand the amendment of the brick kiln law in No'khali.,

The Bangladesh Brick Manufacturing Owners Association No.takhali District Branch has held a human chain program to demand the license of the Zigzag Brick Kilns Act-2013 and the Brick Preparation and Establishment Control Act-2013 and the Brick Preparation and Establishment of Kilns Act-2019. At the same time, the agitators have presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the District Commissioner to find out the solution of the crisis.

They held this program in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Sunday (November 27) afternoon.

Bangladesh Brick Manufacturing Owners Association No.takhali Branch President Md. Ismail, General Secretary KM Aftab Uddin, Treasurer Md. The owners of various brick kilns including Ikram Ullah (Dipti) also participated in the program and half a hundred owners.

The speakers in the human chain said that the brick-plugging and re-establishment (disposition) Act 2013 was issued again, ignoring the proposal of the brick-manufacturing owners association, and the owners of the brick kilns started setting up kilns in an eco-friendly zigzag manner. Special establishments, railways, educational institutions, hospitals and clinics, research institutes or any similar place and brick kilns should be set up 1 km away from rural places - due to this trend, zigzag kiln is not being given.

The speakers also said that the government has crores of VAT and crores of revenue from the brick kiln. Millions of workers are working in these kilns, the need for bricks for the development of bricks There is no way to deny it, so they demanded quick amendment of this law. At the same time, the main material for the brick kiln plantation is the total import, which is completely import-dependent, the price of 18 to 20 thousand rupees including the importer price, tax, VAT is a maximum of 18 to 20 thousand rupees. But they are selling 28 to 30 thousand rupees.
