In the case of a missing couple in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, the lover's relatives attacked the lover's house. Five people, including a child and a woman, were injured.
The incident took place in Char Thika village on Monday (November 13) afternoon. Earlier, on Sunday (November 12) night, Surmi Akhter (18) disappeared holding the hand of her boyfriend Milon (21).
Boyfriend Md. Milon is a son of Nur Nabi from Char Thika village in the upazila. Girlfriend Surmi Akhter is the daughter of the same neighbor Abul Bashar.
The family of the boyfriend Milan alleged that Milan had been in love with Surmi Akhtar for a long time; they wanted to marry each other. As both the families did not agree to the marriage, the couple disappeared. Following this incident, the boyfriend's father, brother and other relatives attacked the boyfriend's house. Five people were injured. Among the injured, Rozina Begum (21), Dullabi Begum (30), Bakul Begum (27) have been admitted to Sadar Hospital. Asma Begum (19) and baby Jannat (three months) were given primary treatment.
The girlfriend's brother, Russell, denied the attack and said, "They forcibly took my sister away."
Kamalnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akul Chandra Biswas said that no one has filed a complaint in this regard. If a complaint is received, legal action will be taken after investigating.
