A case has been filed against five people for allegedly attempting and aiding the forcible rape of a teenage girl in Charbhadrasan, Faridpur.
The girl's father filed a case with Charbhadrasan Police Station last Monday.
The victim, a teenage girl, is currently admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to police and the girl's family sources, the incident took place in the Sura Beribandh area of Zakerar in Sadar Union of the Upazila.
The girl's father, Alimuddin Bepari (49), said that last Saturday, his teenage daughter went to a wedding ceremony at his eldest son's in-laws' house in the Sura Beribandh area of Zakerar in Sadar Union Upazila.
At that time, five unidentified persons, namely, accused No. 1 Md. Kausar (19), father- Nuru Uddin, resident of Charbhadrasan Upazila Sadar and Gazirtek Union, accused No. 2 Mamun Sheikh (32), father- Sheikh Ismail, resident of Gazirtek, accused No. 3 and 4 Sohag Sheikh (19) and Shipon Sheikh (19), father- Jalil Sheikh, resident of Hajiganj Fakir Dangi, and accused No. 5 Rubel (28), father- Elach Uddin, resident of MP Dangi, tried to rape her in a tin house at the wedding house.
When asked about the incident, Sheikh Ismail, the father of accused number 2, said, "My son works in the business of selling drugs. Other boys threw paint at the wedding. My son was sitting at the door at the time. He said he was not involved in any such incident."
The investigation officer of the case, Sub-Inspector Khoybar Rahman of Charbhadrasan Police Station, said that three accused have been arrested in the incident and sent to Faridpur Jail. He also said that efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused quickly.
