The owner of the dredger who was fined is Jamal Mia (40), son of Tara Mia of Dighinagar village in Parshabati Dohar upazila. The mobile court collected these fines under Section 15(1) of the Sand and Soil Management Act 2010. On Tuesday afternoon, a mobile court operation was conducted at the water reservoir of the Padma River under the leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanjila Kabir Tropa.

Others involved in the operation are Charbhadrasan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mintu Mondal, Upazila Fisheries Officer SM Mahmudul Hasan, Mobile Court Officer Saddam Hossain, police and Ansar Battalion members.
It is known that Rashed Chowkder, Zillu Chowkder, Basar Munshi and UP Chairman Nasir Uddin, influential people in the char area, had been doing a booming business by extracting sand using ball gates and dredger machines for a long time in those water bodies of the Padma River in the upazila.
