Nobel Jaymine Economist Amartya Sen said in an interview with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that she has been qualified to become the Prime Minister of India.

The Lok Sabha elections in the lower house of the Indian Parliament in 2024 will be a single horse race for the Bharati Janata Party (BJP) and it will be a mistake. He said that the role of some regional parties in the country's next elections will be ‘clearly important’.

Amartya Sen said Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is qualified to be the next Prime Minister of India but it is not yet established whether the West Bengal Chief Minister will be able to exploit the frustration of the people against the BJP.

‘I think some regional parties are clearly important. In my opinion DMK is an important party, Trinamool is definitely important and Samajwadi Party also has some position, but I don't know if that position can be taken.’

Amartya Sen said there is no other party that can take the place of BJP, I think it is wrong because BJP has established itself as a party, which has a vision and is more inclined towards Hindus than others in India.

Around the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India, leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Janata Dal (United) have called for a new alliance, which will ensure the defeat of the BJP in the two-pronged contested elections.
