Although the dream metro rail will be launched on December 28, ordinary passengers will have the opportunity to travel on it from the day after the inauguration. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be the first passenger to buy a ticket and board the metro rail on the inauguration day, in the successful journey of this special initiative, which will save time, save fuel, and reduce traffic jams.

This information was revealed by sources from Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), which is responsible for the construction and operation of the metro rail. The sources said that 2,000 guests will be invited to the inauguration ceremony at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. On that day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will buy the first ticket and board the metro rail.

Meanwhile, the metro rail will initially run for four hours a day for a few days after the inauguration. A meeting was held on Sunday with representatives of the Japanese international agency JICA, officials of the contracting company and consultants. It is reported that these issues were discussed there.

Although the Metrorail will start operating at 8 am every day, it is not yet decided whether it will initially run for four hours in the morning and afternoon or continuously. However, this will be decided keeping in mind the needs of passengers.

The meeting discussed how and for how long the Metrorail will be operated initially after its launch; and how passengers will be given the opportunity to use it.
