The incident took place in Purakata village of Burischar Union No. 6 of Barguna Sadar Upazila, Barguna, Sadar Thana, filed a case against four people for not paying dowry money. The case was made three and four.
According to the sources, Shahjahan Mridha got married to Mehrunnecha on August 15, 2021. Since the marriage, Shajahan Mridha has been torturing her from her father's house to bring money from her father's house.
The chairman and dignitaries of the area have arbitrated and settled it and settled it around 10 am on September 25. When Shahjahan Mridha left for shopping on a motorcycle from Barguna town, Napitkhali Hanif Mia stopped the motorcycle on the north side of the house and beat Mehrunnesha with five or six people including his son Rabiul Mridha. When the locals ran, they all fled, and later the locals admitted him to Barguna General Hospital and filed a case against 4 on Monday, on October 3.
The locals protested this and said, "They have never seen Mehrunnesh with the dowry of the husband, wife, and they have no involvement with the fights of Yunus and Zahirul. We request the administration to conduct a fair investigation and bring the culprits under the law and those who are not involved in it should be released from the case.
In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) of Baguna Mehdi Hasan said that the dowry case is usually against the husband and others are being harassed unnecessarily. If they are not involved in this, they will be exempted from this case.
