Student Forum holds protest march against drugs in Ramganj

In Sameshpur village of Bhadur Union No. 3 of Ramganj Upazila of Lakshmipur, a protest rally and procession was organized by the Chhatra Forum and the locals against the eviction of drug dealers' hideouts and anti-social activities including gambling. On Monday (October 31), at 11 am, the rally was held at the premises of Sameshpur Government Primary School and then a protest procession was held on various roads in the area.

The protest rally, chaired by Shafiul Azam, advisor of Sameshpur Student Forum, and moderated by Shobhan Gazi, was addressed by Sameshpur Government Primary School president and journalist Rahmat Ullah Patwary, vice-president Harunur Rashid Babul, Sameshpur Ward UP member Abdul Quader, Nasima Akhter, Student Forum treasurer Rakib Hossain, Chhatra League leader Rakib Gazi, etc. Teachers, political leaders and activists of the area and people from different walks of life were present at the time. The speakers at the rally said that an organized group in the area has been misleading the student community and youth by setting up drug and gambling dens in various places including school premises for a long time, and the peace and order of the society is being destroyed.
