Europe does not have the strength to fight Russia alone without the United States. Europe must increase its own defense capabilities.

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin made the remarks in a speech at the Lowy Institute in Sydney on Friday during her visit to Australia.

In the wake of the Ukraine war, he said, "We should make sure that we are stronger. I want to say a brutal truth that Europe is not strong enough. Without the United States, we will be in trouble." AFP, Guardian.
Asked about China's role in reining in Russia, Sanna Marin said, "China can play a role in this. But we should not rely solely on it."

The 37-year-old Finnish prime minister insisted that "Ukraine must be given everything it needs to win the war. The United States has played a leading role in providing Kiev with the weapons, money and humanitarian assistance needed to counter Russia's advance."

"We need to make sure that we have that capability in the European defense industry," said Sanna Marin. "And we need to make sure that we can deal with different situations."

Biden not meeting with Putin: US President Joe Biden had expressed interest in meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the military operation in Ukraine. But Putin did not respond to the proposal and added the opposite condition.
