Child dies after falling into water in Lakshmipur

A baby girl named Israt Jahan Nusrat (01) has lost her life after falling into water in Lakshmipur.

The accident occurred at around 12 noon on Saturday (October 7) in Abirnagar village of Lakshmipur district town.

Later, locals rescued the baby girl in a lifeless state and brought her to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead.

Nusrat is the daughter of Roni and Ranu, a couple from Abirnagar village.

The deceased child's grandfather, Dulal Hossain, said, "Unbeknownst to everyone, Nusrat fell into a small pond behind the house. We searched everywhere but could not find her, so we found her by casting a net in the pond. Later, when we took her to the hospital, the doctor declared her dead."

Dr. Kamala Sheesh Roy, the on-duty physician at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital, confirmed the child's death.
