In Lakshmipur, mobile shops selling warm clothes have set up on the sidewalks at the beginning of winter. To attract buyers, the vendors have arranged various colors and types of winter clothes for all ages, including sweaters, jackets, coats, sweaters, baby suits, monkey hats and blankets. As soon as winter arrives, these shops are busy from morning till night. The lower-class people of the district are busy keeping themselves warm in the winter. However, middle-class buyers are buying their favorite clothes as they can find good clothes at low prices on the sidewalks.
A visit to some of the mobile shops in the district shows that the vendors have arranged winter clothes of various colors and designs, including sweaters, baby suits, jackets, coats, blankets. And the shops are crowded with people from the lower and middle classes. Everyone is crowding the sidewalks to get good clothes at a lower price than in the big markets and visiting a few shops to buy their favorite clothes. However, this time the demand for children's and women's clothes is high. On the other hand, due to the good security system, shopping continues from morning till night. And in these shops, spring winter clothes are available between 50 and 800 taka. And blankets are available between 300 and 700 taka.
Azad, a vendor at a mobile shop, said, "As a result of high profits, I am selling winter clothes on the sidewalks during the winter season like every year. However, this time, the sales are a little higher at the beginning of winter than usual. I sell 8 to 9 thousand taka every day. However, sales will increase as the winter gets colder."
When asked why she is buying winter clothes from the sidewalk instead of buying them from the big markets in the district, Farhana of Hamchadi village said, "The prices of winter clothes there are very high. And here, I come to buy good clothes of different colors and designs at low prices."
Seller Mobarak said, "I do different things at other times of the year. But during the winter season, I buy winter clothing through belts from Chittagong. I buy sweater belts for 6 to 12 thousand taka but sell them for 10 to 17 thousand taka. I buy baby suit belts for 10 to 12 thousand taka but sell them for 16 to 19 thousand taka. I buy shirt belts for 4 to 8 thousand taka but sell them for 6 to 12 thousand taka. In this way, we almost double the profit on each winter clothing."
Rickshaw puller Shahin Alam said, "Winter has not yet started in full swing. Even then, I am buying winter clothes in advance. And I cannot afford to buy from big markets, so I am buying from here."
Zakir Hossain of Banchanagar, who is selling winter clothes in a van in front of the Lakshmipur Municipality office, said, "We have arranged the winter clothes to attract buyers. However, this time, sales are better at the beginning of winter than usual. And as the winter gets colder, sales will increase even more."
