A video of Meghna river rising in the sky in Ramgatti of Lakshmipur has been on social media Facebook.
On Friday (September 9) around 4 pm, a Chhatra League leader named Sajib Zamindar posted the video on his personal Facebook ID, but the upazila administration and local fish traders know that there was no incident of water rising in the sky.
It is reported that the 37 second video was recorded by a young man named Majid Hossain Umar of Charramani Mohan area of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila, who first posted the video on Facebook.
In the post, a person named Maksudur Rahman Apan is commenting, he also saw the scene. The scene was seen around 3:20 pm. The caption of the video posted by Majid read, ‘Ya Allah, what a terrible form of nature. I saw it directly with my own eyes today. Place - Tanki Ghat, Ramgati.’
In the 30th of the video recording, Majid Hossain Umar is a resident of Charramani Mohan Unity, Mozuchaudhury, in the area of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila, who has passed HSC from Lakshmipur Government College. He works in the fishing ground of Ramgatit.
"I was at the ghat in the afternoon and we didn't see any of the water rising in the sky. Who or who has posted a video on Facebook," said Abdur Rob, a fish trader at Tanki Ghat. Many people have tried to know from us, but we have not seen such a scene.
Ramgati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Shantunu Chowdhury said that in the afternoon, the panel chairmen of the Union were present at Tanki Ghat. He did not see such a scene. They also talked to the locals and they could not confirm the video.
