19 BNP leaders and activists in jail in Lakshmipur Jubo League leader murder case

Lakshmipur: A court has sent 19 BNP leaders and activists to jail in the murder case of Jubo League leader Miraj Hossain Patwari in Raipur, Lakshmipur.
On Wednesday (October 25) afternoon, Lakshmipur District and Sessions Judge Dr. AKM Abul Kashem handed down the sentence.
When the accused applied for bail in the Lakshmipur District Judge's Court, keeping the case documents secret, the court rejected it and ordered them to be sent to prison. State lawyer PP Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter.
The state lawyer said that 19 leaders and activists, including Raipur Upazila Jubo Dal General Secretary Emran, Joint General Secretary Naju, BNP leader Bachchu, and others accused in the murder case, have been sent to jail. The remaining accused are absconding.
According to court sources, on the night of October 19, 2012, terrorists hacked local Jubo League leader Miraj Hossain Patwari to death in Keroa Union of Raipur Upazila of Lakshmipur. In this incident, the victim's mother Rani Begum filed a case with the police station accusing 40 people.
Later, the police investigated and filed a charge sheet in court against 39 people. On October 22, 2012, the accused were granted two-month bail by the High Court. On January 17, 2013, when they appeared in the lower court and sought bail again, the court ordered them to be sent to jail. On February 3 of the same year, they were granted another six-month bail by the High Court. Later, when they did not appear in court, the High Court rejected their bail on February 4, 2016. Later, when they appealed to the Supreme Court, the court upheld the same order.
