Own Reporter: An advocacy meeting of health officers and employees was held in Lakshmipur with the theme 'Build a planned family, prevent maternal death'. The meeting was organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday (December 19) afternoon. The meeting was held with the aim of making the Family Welfare Service and Promotion Week 2017 a success from December 30 to January 4. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Department Dr. Ashfaqur Rahman Mamun and Acting Deputy Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hossain was the chief guest. Civil Surgeon Dr. Mostafa Khaled Ahmed, District Animal Resources Officer Abdul Bashet and Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Akhtar Hossain among others spoke at the time. Officers and employees of various health centers of Sadar, Raipur, Ramganj, Ramgati and Kamalnagar upazilas of the district participated in the meeting. The speakers said that health services must be ensured for the people in neglected remote islands and islands as well. The officials and employees of the health centers must be diligent in ensuring their medical services. The speakers called on those concerned to work tirelessly in serving the patients of remote islands and islands.
