185 shelter centers ready in Lakshmipur

Yesterday Sunday (October 23) at 7:00 pm Deputy Commissioner Antar Hossain Akand confirmed the information by calling an emergency meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Noor-A Alam conducted the meeting, District Civil Surgeon Ahmed Kabir, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Palash Kanti Nath, Deputy Director of Family Planning Department Ashfakur Rahman Mamun and other officials of various offices were present.

In this meeting of the disaster management committee, the grasslands and low areas of the district may be flooded with a high tide of 3 to 5 feet in the Meghna river under the influence of the cyclone Sitrarang.

The river area will be miked to bring people to safe shelters from remote areas. To bring those who are in the river to the locality, 185 shelter centers including cyclone shelters are being prepared for safe shelter.

260 metric tons of rice, 1000 packets of dry food, 600 cartoon biscuits have been reserved. 5 lakh 83 thousand rupees have been allocated.
