IGP's appeal to students to advance in knowledge and science

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, IG of Bangladesh Police and Chief Patron of Bangladesh Retired Police Officers Welfare Association, has called upon the students to advance in knowledge and science through hard work and relentless efforts.

This call was made in the speech of the chief guest at the IGP merit scholarship awarding ceremony by the Bangladesh Retired Police Officers Welfare Association Complex Seminar Hall at Rajarbagh in the capital on Saturday (April 20) morning.

Bangladesh Retired Police Officers Welfare Association President Bir Muktijoddha AT Ahmedul Haque Chowdhury presided over the event as special guest was Moshiul Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC.

Vice President of the association Bir Muktijoddha Waliur Rahman, Additional IGP Abu Hasan Muhammad Tariq, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman and others spoke on the occasion.

Welcoming the meritorious students who have been awarded the scholarship, the IGP said, "In addition to acquiring knowledge, you have to work for the welfare of the country and the people.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, you have to increase the reputation and status of Bangladesh by crossing the borders of the country and increase the reputation of Bangladesh in the international arena. He urged the students to work as one of the explorers of the developed and rich ‘Smart Bangladesh’ announced by the Prime Minister.

Thanking and thanking the retired police officers, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, you have done your duty with courage to keep the law and order of the country normal by facing various adverse situations and challenges in your career. We are also performing our duties with utmost professionalism and sincerity to fight militancy, terrorism and maintain fair law and order by using your experience.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun urged the association to take more humanitarian and social initiatives for the welfare of the country and people.

IGP scholarships were given to the students who got GPA 5 in the SSC and HSC examination in 2023 among the students of the schools and colleges managed by the Bangladesh Police under the initiative of the association.

In the event, Dhaka city and 5 educations in Gazipur and Narayanganj districts 66 students of the institution were awarded scholarships, crests and certificates, and later the IGP handed over merit scholarships and certificates to the students.
