Kamalnagar headmaster dies in road accident

Lakshmipur: Md. Khorshed Alam, headmaster of Dakshin Char Kalkini Haji Ishaq Government Primary School in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, has been killed in a road accident.

He died at around 12:30 am on Friday (October 28) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Noakhali. Earlier, on Friday (October 27) morning, he was injured in an accident at Mia Beri on the Ramgati-Lakshmipur road.

Khorshed Alam is the son of the late Abdul Munaf of Char Martin area of Char Lawrence Union in Kamalnagar Upazila.

Kamalnagar Upazila Primary Assistant Education Officer Md. Zahir Uddin confirmed the death of the head teacher.

Assistant teacher of the school Md. Nuruzzaman said that on Friday (October 27) morning, he was injured when a speeding Malmahi pickup hit him while crossing the road at Mia Beri on the Ramgati-Lakshmipur road. The injured teacher was taken to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital and given primary treatment. Later, on the advice of doctors, he was admitted to Noakhali Hospital for advanced treatment. He died during treatment at night.
