Internet services may be disrupted in various parts of the country today (March 2) due to maintenance work on the submarine cable. Maintenance work will continue on the Singapore side of the submarine cable (C-ME-WE-4) system today. Due to this, internet services may be disrupted from 7 am to 7 pm.
The matter was confirmed last Wednesday through a notification from Bangladesh Submarine Cables Company Limited (BSCCL).
The notification said that the circuits connected through this cable will be partially closed for approximately 12 hours from 7 am to 7 pm on March 2 due to maintenance work undertaken by the consortium on the Singapore end of the submarine cable (C-ME-WE-4) system.
However, it was also reported that the circuits connected through the country's second submarine (CME-WE-5) cable installed in Kuakata will remain operational as usual.
Operator companies have informed customers in advance about this by posting on social media and sending text messages to mobile phones, expressing their regret. These messages state that there may be difficulties in using internet services across the country from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday.
