Own Correspondent: Classes were suspended at Char Mehar Azizia High School in Ramgati Upazila of Lakshmipur for a cultural and sports program. Due to the loud noise during the program, teachers were also unable to teach at the nearby Char Mehar Government Primary School. As a result, dissatisfaction and anger have been spread among the parents.
It started at 10 am on Thursday (October 29) and continued till 3 pm. The singing event was organized by Prism Bangladesh Foundation of Ramgati in the classroom of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation's Sahayak School. Several parents expressed their anger and said that students could not go to school this year due to natural disasters. Besides, schools are closed most of the year due to other government holidays. Again, students are being hindered from participating in such singing events by closing classes.
In this regard, school headmaster Abdul Matin said that the ceremony was held in light of a letter from the secondary education officer.
Secondary Education Officer Abul Kalam Azad said, "I did not give permission to play music with a microphone. I did not know that there was a primary school next to that school."
