The District Jubo League has come alive in the festive atmosphere in Lakshmipur. The Lakshmipur District Jubo League is quite enthusiastic and active around the conference to be organized on November 23 after a long 24 years. However, posters and digital banners have been put up in various places including the heart of the city to make the conference a success. There is a lot of excitement among the Trinamool leaders and workers around the conference. Banners and festoons are spreading throughout the district. Meanwhile, their followers are expressing the position of their favorite leaders through one status after another on the social media Facebook.
However, as there is no rival candidate for the post of president so far, the current district Jubo League convener AKM Salah Uddin Tipu is likely to be nominated as the president in the coming days. Meanwhile, although there is no rival candidate for the post of president, the names of many leaders are being heard to be in the post of general secretary. They are busy campaigning on social media Facebook. A source said that the candidates are staging a sit-in with the party high command to get other key posts besides the president. However, several leaders and activists want to see AKM Salah Uddin Tipu directly as the district Jubo League president without any competition.
Awami Jubo League Chairman Alhaj Omar Faruk Chowdhury will be present as the chief guest and inaugurator of the conference organized at Lakshmipur Adarsh Samad High School ground. The main speaker will be the organization's General Secretary Harunur Rashid. In addition, Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar constituency) MP Alhaj Shahjahan Lakshmipur-4 Md. Leaders and workers at all levels of the party are working day and night to make the conference a success. According to party sources, the last conference of Lakshmipur District Jubo League was held in 1993. After that, two long decades have passed, but no conference of Lakshmipur District Jubo League has been held. Due to the lack of a conference for a long time, the party leaders and workers are becoming disillusioned with the organization.
Later, seven years ago, in 2011, a new convening committee of Lakshmipur District Jubo League was formed. Syed Ahmed was made the convener, and AKM Salahuddin Tipu and Advocate Rahmatullah Biplob were made joint conveners. The leaders and workers of Jubo League almost came back to life after meeting the convening committee at that time.
Basically, after AKM Salahuddin Tipu, the then joint convener of the committee, took charge and started working to organize the party with the party leaders and workers. He was quite successful in that. The party leaders and workers became lively under his leadership. At that time, the party leaders and workers spontaneously participated in all the programs of the party and the government under Tipu's leadership.
Besides, before and after the January 5, 2014 elections, when BNP-Jamaat tried to spread fear in the minds of people by cutting down trees and on the streets in the name of the Lakshmipur movement, Jubo League leaders and activists fought for the government almost every day under the leadership of Jubo League leader AKM Salahuddin Tipu.
The Jubo League held processions and meetings on the streets to prevent all anti-government misdeeds. After this, the previous committee of the District Jubo League was dissolved in 2016 and a new convening committee was formed. Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila Chairman AKM Salahuddin Tipu, the joint convener of the previous committee, was made the convener, and Sheikh Jamal Ripon and Bayjid Bhuiyan were made the joint conveners.
This gave the leaders and workers of the Jubo League a new lease of life. After AKM Salahuddin Tipu took over the main leadership of the district Jubo League, he started reorganizing the party. Under his leadership, the Jubo League became a worker-friendly, well-organized organization in the district. Under Tipu's leadership, the Jubo League has been playing a leading role in the movement, struggle and development activities of the government.
In the meantime, every ward, union, municipality and upazila committee of the Jubo League has been formed. District Jubo League convener AKM Salahuddin Tipu is working day and night with the leaders and committee members to make the conference a success and ensure the participation of leaders and workers from all levels of the party in the conference.
Meanwhile, discussions are underway at the conference about who will be the new president and secretary. As there is only one candidate for the post of president so far, it is almost certain that the president of Lakshmipur District Awami Jubo League in the coming days will be AKM Salahuddin Tipu, the current convener of the district Jubo League, the chairman of the Sadar Upazila, the dedicated soul of the Jubo League, the craftsman who has built thousands of workers, and who has led the movement and struggle from the front.
Besides, as there are two candidates for the post of general secretary, it is not yet certain who will be the general secretary of the district Jubo League in the future. However, the names of those who are being discussed for the post of general secretary are - District Jubo League joint convener Bayezid Bhuiyan, District Jubo League member Abdullah Al Noman.
