Dhaka: In view of the implementation of 2-day holidays in educational institutions, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has prepared a revised schedule for 5 days, adjusting the 6-day class activities.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHHE) announced the new class schedule on Wednesday (August 31). According to the revised schedule, there will be 7 classes per day for classes 6-10 from Sunday to Thursday.
It said that a two-day weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday has already been implemented in all educational institutions in the country. The existing timetable of educational institutions for classes VI to XII has been revised to ensure that there is no learning deficit for students and to keep the subject structure of the curriculum intact.
Grades 6 to 10: A total of 35 class activities (periods) will be conducted every week, 7 days a week, from Sunday to Thursday.
The duration of class activities in a single-shift institution is 6 hours and 10 minutes, including a daily assembly of 15 minutes and a break of 30 minutes.
Class XI and XII: Each class activity will be 50 minutes long. For Bangla, English and 3 branch-based elective subjects, 5 class activities (periods) will be conducted per week and for Information and Communication Technology, 3 class activities (periods) will be conducted. That is, a total of 2 (25 + 3) class activities will be conducted per week. 5 class activities (periods) will be conducted for optional subjects.
