Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said, there is no chance of a political crisis due to EVMs. The crisis in politics must be resolved by political parties. EVMs are not a weak machine. Whether the machine is weak or strong is not a matter of consideration, the main thing is whether the machine is working or not.

He made these remarks in response to questions from reporters at his office on Wednesday (September 7).

Stating that there will be no digital fraud if the next election is held using EVMs, he said, "There has been no incident of malfunction anywhere in any election. A lot of time has been spent, scrutiny has been done to eliminate digital fraud."

The CEC also said, Zafar Iqbal said it is not a very complex machine. In that sense, he is saying that it is a weak machine. Whether the machine is weak or strong is not a matter for me to consider. There is no need to be strong, there is no need to be weak. The real issue is whether the machine is working or not. Over the past few years, we have used thousands of EVMs in thousands of elections. It has not happened anywhere that our machine malfunctioned.
