Legendary lyricist, film director and producer Gazi Mazharul Anana is no more. He passed away at 6:00 this Sunday morning (Inna Lillahi and Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). His bats were 79 years 6 months 13 days. This death was confirmed by Gazi Mazharul Anna's daughter-in-law Shahana Mirza.

He was awarded the Ekushey Padak of Bangladesh in 2002 and the Independence Award in 2021. He has won the National Film Award five times.
