Faruk Hossain, a former presidium member of Jubo League, has received the party nomination of Awami League for the post of Faridpur Zilla Parishad Chairman.

The candidate was finalized at the Awami League's local government nomination board meeting on Saturday (September 10) night. The election will be held on October 17. According to Faridpur district Awami League sources, 14 people bought the party nomination form of the Awami League for the post of chairman in the district council elections, among them, the final candidate was nominated on Saturday.

According to Dalit sources, Farooq Hossain, who has been nominated for the post of chairman in the district council of Faridpur district council in Faridpur district council elections, has been active in politics since his student days. After serving from his important positions in the Yachin College of Faridpur, Farooq Hossain started the politics of Chhatra League in 1980.

He was elected general secretary of Jubo League district branch in 1986 while in jail. He became the president of the district Jubo League from 1995 to 2003 and the next year he became a member of the Central Jubo League. He was the campaign secretary of Faridpur district Awami League. In 2012, he was elected presidium member of Jubo League, Faridpur district Awami League general secretary Shah Mohammad Ishtiaq Arif said, I believe everyone who bought the nomination in the district is eligible. But of this, we will all win the election with whomever Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina has nominated.

After the selection of nomination papers on September 18, the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is September 25.
