39 arrested in DMP's anti-drug operation

Various crime and intelligence departments of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 39 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in various areas of the capital.

This information was reported by the DMP's media wing on Saturday (September 17).

The DMP said that they were arrested in raids conducted in various police stations in the capital from 6 am on Friday (September 16) to 6 am on Saturday.

During this time, 394 pieces of Yaba, 50 grams of heroin, 17 kg 90 grams of marijuana, 50 bottles of Phensedyl, 64 liters of local liquor, two bottles of foreign liquor and 35 narcotic injections were recovered from them.

The DMP also said that 31 cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been registered against the arrested people at the relevant police stations.
