In Rajivpur of Kuigram, an allegation has been made against Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Hasan Sadiq Mahmud that students of Harijan group and not giving away allowance allowance.

The beneficiaries filed a complaint with the upazila executive officer last (Thursday 16th June). Even though it has been a long time since, the upazila executive officer Amit Chakraborty has not taken any action regarding that complaint. The beneficiaries say that our children are studying in various schools and colleges of the upazila, due to which our children are having to pay the cost of food.

Only that is why our Harijans and backward communities are not getting allowance, even for two years, it is difficult for us to get allowance and family. We have given a written request to the upazila executive officer for three months but he has not taken any incentive till today.

Social Service Officer Hasan Sadiq Mahmud says, they have started getting it again. It has not been possible for two years. It is the end of the financial year, because of this before I came. These money was in the bank, it will be manually given to GDP. Give this money. When asked if there is a chance, he said, ’If you want to give it, you will need a sign of UNO sir. After the end of the financial year, it will have to be given on the instructions of the higher authorities. If they give in writing, then we can give it. And they have started getting the GDP again."

In this case, Rajivpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Amit Chakraborty tried to contact him on the phone and he did not get it.
