A housewife named Smriti Akhter (21) has gone missing in Raipur, Laxmipur. She is the daughter of Md. Rafiq, an expatriate from Amir Uddin Dhali house in Charmohona village of the upazila. She went missing on Sunday afternoon while going from her father's house to the house of her husband Fakhrul Islam Titur (25) in Rakhalia village, Nurul Islam Peon. Smriti's mother Mahinur (43) filed a general diary (GD) with Raipur police station on Wednesday (October 12) morning in the incident.

Mahinur said, "My daughter came to visit my house on Wednesday. Last Sunday afternoon, she left with lunch for her husband and in-laws. But when she didn't arrive for a long time, her son-in-law Titu called me and asked why her daughter didn't go. The auto rickshaw driver said that the daughter didn't get off at the designated place that day and got off at another place. We are extremely worried as the daughter has been missing for 8 days and has not been found yet. She had no complaint against the son-in-law and in-laws' families. I have filed a GD with Raipur Police Station as the complainant in this incident.

The housewife's father-in-law, Nur Mohammad (65), said, "My wife is not alive. My daughter-in-law Smriti was the lifeblood of our family. We are worried about her sudden disappearance. My daughter-in-law never had any complaints against anyone. She did not even have a mobile phone. However, a few mobile numbers were found in the drawer of the table she used. We are hoping that maybe we will find my daughter-in-law through these clues. If she returns despite being in danger, we will naturally accept her. She has taken over my daughter's place from my daughter-in-law through her behavior and work."

Smriti Akhter's husband Fakhrul Islam Titu said, "I am searching for possible places to get my wife back. Even if she left me naturally, I would not have suffered so much. But now I am worried about her every moment. If she falls in love with bad people out of emotion, she can be harmed. So wherever she is, let her be. But we want to be sure of her exact location."

Raipur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Hasan Jahangir Hossain said that the housewife's mother Mahinur has filed a GD in this incident. Missing messages have been sent to all police stations in the country. A sub-inspector has been assigned to look into the matter.
