Officials' leave canceled in Noakhali, 401 shelters ready

The district administration has taken extensive preparations in the cyclone Sitrang Nit, which has taken various decisions including cancellation of leave of government officials, and the 401 Ashrani center will be opened.

Deputy Commissioner Deoan Mahbubur Rahman took these decisions in the meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee in his conference room on Monday (October 24) morning.

The District Commissioner said, "We have opened the control room on behalf of the district administration, while 8,380 volunteers have been kept ready on the coast. Adequately, the medical team, the round-the-clock mobile team, is already prepared.

He added that everyone should be vigilant, we pray that Allah be with us. We will be ready before we have any difficulties or any problems.

Sabha, Additional Superintendent of Police (headquarters) Md. Mortahin Billah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Israt Sadmin and other heads of various departments, media workers, voluntary organizations were present.

Meanwhile, due to the influence of Sitrang, it is raining with gusty winds in No'khali, where the Meghna river is rough, all communication with Hatita, Dwip Upazila, has stopped all communication.

Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of No'khali Awahawta office, said that No'khali has come to the 7th danger signal.
