Chhatra League leaders raise funds by riding bikes

Chhatra League leaders collect money from various mobile shopkeepers in Rajshahi University (Rabi) campus. The shops are open due to the huge crowd of people in the exam, and the leaders and workers of this student organization of the ruling party have been charged with a huge amount of money.

On Tuesday, similar allegations were made that eight to 10 activists raised money to all the shopkeepers to give away the motorcycle, but the leaders claimed that they had given money to those hawkers to warn them of the poison.

The accused Chhatra League leaders are the University Branch Chhatra League Joint General Secretary Sadekul Islam Sadiq, former organizing secretary Abid Al Hasan Laban, Nawab Abdul Latif Hall Chhatra League vice-president Tashfiq Al Tauhid and Mother Bakhsh Hall joint general secretary Tamim Khan, among them are followers of Laban and Tauhid Rabi Chhatra League President Mostafizur Rahman Babu, while Sadiq and Tamim are followers of Chhatra League general secretary Asadullah-Ghalib.

A dub seller, on condition of anonymity, complained that four or five people came and demanded 1,000 rupees from him, but he refused to pay, then the BCL leaders said that if you want to do business here, you have to pay 1000 rupees.

A Fuchka seller said, ‘The people of the Chhatra League came and demanded money from me. All of them are known to me. Among them were Laban Bhai, Sadiq Bhai, Tauhid and Tamim. 500 rupees have been taken from me. Yesterday, today, today, today, today, I think they will have to pay for business.’

A syrup seller said that 7-8 people came on a five-sixth bike and demanded a fee from him and they took money from many other shops nearby and the food was taken from those who could not take money.

When asked about the complaint, Chhatra League leader Sadiq said, ‘I am not involved in any such incident. Rather, I have said in the shop shop, if someone comes to extort money in my name, let me call me.’

Another leader, Tamim, said, ‘Yesterday, I was busy with the Bangla Bike Service (bringing and taking the admission) all day yesterday. I have warned the shopkeepers that someone else can do this in my name. If someone comes to ask for money in my name, he will tie him up and call me.’

Laban said, ‘I have been with the president-general secretary for several days. I have heard that some people have paid money in my name. So I have told some shopkeepers that those who come to collect donations in my name, stop them and call me.’

Another Chhatra League leader Tauhid said, ‘It's a completely false accusation. I was with the president all day yesterday. I have not extorted even in my life. Even if it is a day of sarcasm, it will be proved that I have not taken any money from anywhere.’

Rabi Chhatra League president Mostafizur Rahman Babu said, ‘None of Sadiq, Laban and Tauhid are involved in extortion, but I don't know if Tamim has gone. If they get the evidence of the allegations against them, then they will be expelled by tomorrow.’

However, although the general secretary of the branch Chhatra League Ghalib was called several times, he did not respond.
