Lionel Messi has been selected for the second consecutive season of Major League Soccer-MLS, who has been named the league's top scorer in the league.
Messi has also made a record in it. He is the first player in MLS history to win MVP for two consecutive years. He is the second player to win the award twice. Before that, in 1997 and 2003, Predrag Radosavlzevich won the award twice. Messi scored 29 goals in MLS history, which is the fourth highest in MLS history.
‘I'm happy to get this award and have been the first to play in the history of this league for two years. I'm very grateful to have won it for two years,’ he added, adding, ‘It's nice to get a personal award. But I want to share it with my teammates.’
He was the second most played in the league, scoring and assisting in both the league goals and assists. He was the only one who had only Sebasthan Giovinco in 2015. He also scored a 6th goal and gave more assists in the final against Vancouver. He won 3–1 in the final against Vancouver to become MLS Cup MVPO.
Last October, Messi made a three-year deal with Inter Mitami, adding another milestone to his career, with eight Ballon d'Ors, three FIFA World Players of the Year and two World Cup Golden Balls.
This time he became MVP with a huge vote. 70.43 percent of the total votes Messi got, and his Anders Dretter got 11.15 percent in the San Diego FC.
Messi has set a new record in 10 multi-goal matches in MLS in a season, with a record of eight records for Stern John, Mamadu Diallo and Ibrahimovic.
He won the first MVP in 2024. He scored 20 goals and 16 assists in 19 matches that year. After joining Inter Mimi in 2023, he won the Leagues Cup that year and led the 2024 season to the support of the Supporters Shield.
