US President Donald on Monday Trump has announced that he has signed an agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which will allow US chip maker Nvidia to export advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips to China.

The announcement came at a time when the trade tensions between the United States and China are escalating, and both countries are competing to dominate AI technology, which has brought major changes in Nvidia's advanced chip export policy, which was previously strictly limited by the Joe Biden administration, which has been strictly controlled by the Biden administration, which has tightened control of chip exports due to national security and the potential for military use of China.

Democrat members of Congress termed Trump's decision as a serious mistake, they believe the move will help China's military and economic power to increase.

Trump wrote on ‘Truth Social’ that he has known Xi Jinping to allow Nvidia to export their H200 chip, but it will be ‘in terms of maintaining a strong national security.’ He also noted that the money will be paid from the chip sold in China to the United States, but did not explain in detail the process of its implementation.

Trump has criticized his predecessor's policy, saying the Biden administration forced US companies to create low-powered chips, which slowed innovation and damaged employment.
