Fire breaks out at 9 shops in Kamalnagar, Lakshmipur, causing loss of Tk 10 crore

Lakshmipur:

A fire broke out at nine shops in Hazirhat Bazaar in Kamalnagar Upazila of Lakshmipur, causing damage worth around Tk 10 crore. The fire broke out at 11:30 pm on Tuesday (October 10).

The damaged shops are Tamim Cloth Store, Wahab Bastalaya, Tamim Cloth Store, Al Syed Cloth Store, Ma Fatima Cloth Store, Bismillah Cloth Store, Ibrahim Cloth Store and Ali Azam Doctor's Pharmacy.

Char Falkon Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Haji Harunur Rashid, brother of the owner of the damaged Al-Sayed Cloth Store and Ma Fatema Cloth Store, and Hazirhat Bazar Secretary Md. Shahajan said that the fire caused a loss of about 10 crore taka to the nine shops.

Fire Service Deputy Director Fariduzzaman Chowdhury said, "Initially, it is believed that the fire may have started from an electrical short circuit. The fire was brought under control after about an hour of effort. The extent of the damage will be determined after an investigation."
