Lakshmipur: A woman named Saleha was arrested and handed over to the police by the hospital authorities for stealing a 4-month-old baby from a hospital in Lakshmipur. The incident took place at Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital around 10:30 pm on Saturday.

The hospital authorities said that the woman named Saleha had been roaming suspiciously in various wards of the hospital since noon. At around 10 pm, the accused Saleha Begum came to the women's medicine ward on the 4th floor of the hospital and developed a friendship with Jannatul Ferdous (Jannat), the daughter of a patient named Sufia.

At one point, she cleverly escaped with her 4-month-old baby son, who was in Jannat's lap, in her arms. At that time, while leaving the main gate of the hospital with the baby, the nurses on duty and the relatives of the patients admitted to the hospital caught Saleha red-handed. Later, when the hospital authorities informed the police, the police arrived at the scene, arrested Saleha and took her to the police station.
