Accusing the ruling party of atrocities against its leaders and activists, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that the Awami League's atrocities will be forgiven if it comes to power.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a public meeting organized by BNP at Suhrawadi Udyan in Rajadhani on Sunday, marking November 7.

The BNP Chairperson also alleged that leaders and activists were prevented from attending the rally. She said that the government has shown its small-mindedness through this act.

Addressing the Election Commission, he said, "It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct free and fair elections. The EC cannot tolerate any wrongdoing in the elections. Elections should be held under a non-partisan government, with the army shut down and EVMs banned."

He also said, 'Even the army needs to be empowered so that they can work.'
And if the army is not given, the ruling party will occupy the center and oppress the people. They will steal votes.’

Earlier, leaders and activists from various wards and areas of Dhaka and its surroundings had taken up positions at Suhrawardy Udyan in a procession since morning to join the public meeting. The formalities of the public meeting began at around 1:45 pm with the recitation of the Quran.
