The court has sentenced 160 people to life imprisonment in the appeal verdict in the BDR (now BGB) murder case. At the same time, 182 people were sentenced to 10 years in prison, 2 people were sentenced to 13 years in prison, 8 people were sentenced to 7 years and 4 people were sentenced to 3 years in prison.
In addition, the court acquitted 29 people who had been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.
A three-member High Court bench headed by Justice Md. Shawkat Hossain announced the verdict on Monday. The other two members of the bench are Justice Md. Abu Zafar Siddiqui and Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder.
