The robot named Sophia, who has received Saudi Arabian 'citizenship', can express human-like expressions on her face and has learned to love people like humans. Sophia, who is modeled after Hollywood's legendary actress Audrey Hepburn, now wants to have children. She also wants to form a family. When asked about her future plans in a recent interview, she said that family is very important.
Robot Sophia was created by Hong Kong-based robot manufacturer Hanson Robotics. Sophia, an artificially intelligent humanoid, can make facial expressions almost like humans. However, her responses are not predetermined. The robot responds based on information learned and stored through machine learning during conversations.
Regarding the expectation of children, Sophia said, 'I think if you have a loving family, you are lucky... I think that is the same for robots and humans.' Sophia wants to have a daughter as a child. And when asked what to name her, Sophia said, 'Sophia'. However, despite Sophia's wonderful communication skills, the robot does not yet have any consciousness. The robot's creator, David Hanson, is optimistic that Sophia will develop further in the coming years.
Incidentally, Sofia is coming to Dhaka to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 'Digital World 2017' fair to be held in Dhaka on December 6. Sofia will be seen talking to the guests at the event. l Shaon Khan, Source: BBC
